After winning the Asia Cup, India’s team reached Mumbai Airport. The team was strongly welcomed here. On the trophy controversy, captain Surya said- Pakistan needed to answer.

They said- ‘Mera and Gambhir’s relationship like brother. Whatever gesture, the serious brother, I do the same without thinking.

35 -year -old Surya spoke on his coordination with the coach after winning the Asia Cup. The involvement between the two is of 2012. Surya was his deputy when Gambhir won the first IPL title to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2012.

Talking to Boria Majumdar of Rev Sports, the Indian captain said- ‘Both The level of trust between is very large. ‘ Surya also answered questions related to the trophy controversy and final match.

The Indian captain said on synergy with the coach-

The relationship between me and Gauti Bhai (Gambhir) is like a small and elder brother. Whatever gesture, the serious brother, I do the same without thinking. Surya told that the level of trust between them is very big. We know each other closely. I learned a lot from them.

Surya admitted that she had learned the nuances of the game seriously during KKR days. Taking forward his point, Surya said-

I have played under the captaincy of Rohit (Sharma), but while playing in KKR, I have learned many nuances of the game from him. They have suffered everything, so know what is going on in the player’s mind. How to prepare for the tournament, how to advance the player and defend it.

Surya said-

Whenever I look at the dugout and they are there, they have some instructions for me, because the game looks completely different from outside. There is a lot of things in my mind on the field – the field placement, who has to bowl, etc. So in every one or two over, I look at them and whatever they indicate, I accept without thinking. This is the trust between us.

Team missed Hardik Pandya in the final Suryakumar told-

The Indian team missed all -rounder Hardik Pandya in the final. But before the match, Hardik himself said that Shivam should be fed to Dubey, who is a pace bowling all -rounder.

Hardik Pandya could not play due to injury in the final match. His place was fed to Shivam Dubey. In the absence of Pandya, Dubey bowled economically for 23 runs in 3 overs and also played an important partnership with Tilak with the bat. Dubey scored 33 off 22 balls, including two fours and two sixes.

Not getting a trophy is not a controversy

Surya said on not getting the Asia Cup trophy-

I would not call it a controversy. If you have seen, people have posted pictures of the trophy here and there, but the real trophy is when you win the hearts of people, players, support staff, the trust they have shown, the people who work behind the scenes are the real trophy. The real trophy is the work and effort of so many people on the ground.

Even after winning the Asia Cup, the Indian team did not get the trophy, as the Indian team refused to take the trophy from PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi.

On the victory over Pakistan in Asia Cup, he said-

It was a very good feeling. When you win a tournament invincible, you like it very much. It was a great feeling for the whole team and the whole country and enjoyed it very much. We came together and sat together last night, and we had a lot of fun….

The Indian team won the Asia Cup by defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets. The team defeated Pakistan for the third time in this tournament.

Donated to match fees Armed Forces; Said- can help small

Suryakumar Yadav donated his match to the victims and fees Armed Forces of the Pahalgam terror attack. On this he said-

When I was going to the press conference, I thought there are so many Indians there. We can only help at least some small help. It will be very good if everyone contributes a little bit. I could not say the entire line at that time that it is for the victims of Armed Force and Pahalgam, but whatever I can do.
