After Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army will strengthen the air slope over the population centers and religious places near the border. Under the Mission Sudarshan Chakra, the Indian Army has released RFP (request for proposal) to buy six AK-630 30mm air defense guns. These air defense guns will especially provide air protection near the Pakistan border, where the city and religious places were targeted during the operation vermilion.

In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Mission Sudarshan Chakra on August 15, 2025, saying that it would be India’s indigenous iron dome. It will be multi-level security shield and will be ready by 2035. Sudarshan Chakra will work to keep important installations from various enemy attacks by monitoring, integrating cyber security and air defense systems.

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday warned Pakistan against terrorist activities in India and said that India would not show any softening in Operation Sindoor 2.0.

What is AK-630 Air Defense Gun System

The Air Defense Branch of the Indian Army has released RFP for six AK-630 Air Defense Gun system with Advanced Weapon and Equipment India Limited (Aweil). This system is 30mm multi-marble mobile air defense gun, whose firing rate is very high.

The gun system will be mounted on the trailer and the high dynamics will be towed by the vehicle. The AK-630 will be used to prevent threats like UAVS, rocket, artillery and mortar and will protect important population centers and religious places near the International Border and Line of Control.

The range of this gun system will be about 4 kilometers and its cycle firing rate will be up to 3000 rounds per minute. For detection, it will use all-visitor electro-optical fire control system.

Army valor was shown in Operation Sindoor

Explain that during Operation Sindoor, the Air Defense Branch of the Indian Army played a decisive role in neutralizing Pakistan’s aerial threats, including drones, rockets, artillery and mortars. The army successfully intercepted several UAVs and low-flying aircraft attacking civil areas and religious places in Jammu, Kashmir and Punjab.

The army created high operating capacity and protected on sensitive areas using L-70 guns, ZU-23-2B, upgraded Shilka System and sky surface-to-air missiles.
