Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, a member of the band of Assam singer Zubin Garg, has made a shocking disclosure. Goswami has said that Garg was poisoned in Singapore, causing him to die. This information has been given in the official documents present with the police.

According to the ‘detailed grounds of arrest’ or remand note, Goswami alleged that Garg was poisoned by his manager Siddharth Sharma and Northeast India Festival organizer Shyamakanu Mahant. In this case, the organizer of the festival, Garg’s manager and two members of the band Goswami and Amritprabha Mahant have been arrested and sent to 14 days police custody.

Band member accused manager and festival organizing murder

Garg died under mysterious circumstances while floating in the sea in Singapore. He went to Singapore to participate in the fourth edition of the festival organized by Shyamakunu Mahant and his company. The note said, ‘When Zubin Garg was gasping to breathe and was almost in a state of drowning, at that time Siddharth Sharma was heard shouting’ Jobe De, Job De ‘(Let it go). The witness has said that Jubin Garg was a skilled swimmer and hence he cannot die due to drowning.

The note is signed by SIT member and Senior Superintendent of Police Rosie Kalita. The note said, ‘Goswami alleged that manager Sharma and Shyamakunu Mahant had poisoned the victim and deliberately chose a place abroad to hide their conspiracy. Manager Sharma also instructed him not to share the video of the boat with anyone.

SIT Investigation of the case related to Garg’s death in Singapore

The CID’s nine -member Special Investigation Team (SIT) is currently investigating the case related to Garg’s death in Singapore. The Assam government has also formed a member Judicial Commission to investigate the case. CID sources have confirmed the truth of the document. Shyamakunu Mahant is the younger brother of former Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahant. Bhaskar is currently the Chief Information Commissioner of Assam State Information Commission. The organizer of the festival is another brother Nani Gopal Mahant, who was the Chief Minister’s Education Advisor before becoming the Vice Chancellor of Guwahati University.

The note said, ‘Witness Shekhar Jyoti Goswami’s statement has revealed that before the death of Zubin Garg, a conspiracy was hatched to make the death out of accident. Siddharth Sharma’s conduct living in Singapore with Garg was suspicious.

Manager misled everyone- Goswami

The note, quoting Goswami, also said that Sharma forcibly snatched the control of the boat from the sailor, causing him to stagger a dangerously in the sea and pose a threat to all the passengers. The note states that when foam was coming out of Garg’s mouth and nose, Sharma deferred it as an acid reflux instead of providing necessary medical facilities and assured others that there is nothing to worry about. According to the note, the physical evidence collected during the investigation gives him a prima facie (Sharma) guilty. This note includes documentary records, financial transactions and statements of witnesses.
