The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against four accused in the case of a grenade attack at the residence of former Punjab minister Manoranjan Kalia. The attack took place in Jalandhar on the night of 7 April 2025.

The charge sheet includes two arrested accused – Saidul Amin (Amroha, Uttar Pradesh) and Abhijot Jangra (Kurukshetra, Haryana) and two absconding accused – Kulbir Singh Sidhu (Yamunanagar, Haryana) and Manish alias Kaka Rana (Karnal, Haryana) -.

A case has been registered on the four under the UAPA, Indian Code (BNS) and sections of the Explosives Act Act.

Kulbir Singh is associated with Babbar Khalsa International

The NIA investigation revealed that Kulbir Singh, who is associated with the banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), formed a terrorist gang with his partner Manish alias Kaka Rana. The purpose of this gang was to target the prominent leaders of Punjab to spread panic and raise funds to raise funds.

Under the conspiracy, Manish recruited Saidul Amin, who threw the grenade. This grenade was provided by Kulbir Singh, while Abhijot Jangra gave financial support for this.

A reward of 10 lakh rupees on arrest

After the attack, Kulbir released the poster and took responsibility for the attack. A red corner notice has been issued against him and a reward of Rs 10 lakh is declared on his arrest. The NIA also charged him in the case of VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar’s murder (April 2024) earlier.

The agency has said that the campaign for the arrest of the absconding accused and the identification of the BKI network active in India has been intensified.
