Pakistan is confused on US President Donald Trump’s ‘Gaza Peace Plan’. Pakistan’s leadership does not understand whether he should support this plan or oppose, if it had not been so, the statements of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar would not have been different. Ishaq Dar had said on the Gaza plan in Parliament that this is not the one that 8 Muslim countries had stamped together, changes have been made in it. Just 24 hours after Dar’s statement, Shahbaz Sharif’s statement came out, in which he was seen praising this plan.

Hamas accepted some conditions of the plan
This statement of Shahbaz Sharif came after Hamas accepted a conditional accepting parts of Trump’s 20-Cutrician Peace Scheme, which aims to end the struggle going on for almost two years. Hamas said that he is ready to release the hostage people during the October 7, 2023 attack and hand over power to other Palestinian groups, although some major differences still remain.
What was Trump’s Gaza plan?
Trump’s Gaza plan includes ceasefire and withdrawal of hostage within 72 hours, formation of a Palestinian administration, monitoring of international and Arab peace army, a phased return of Israeli and redevelopment of a ‘new Gaza’. The scheme also proposes a ‘Peace Board’, which will be chaired by Trump and will be in the role of former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair Advisor.
What did Ishaq Dar say on Trump’s statement?
Ishaq Dar told Parliament that Trump’s Gaza Plan is not the one on which Muslim leaders agreed to the meeting held in New York on 22 September. He said, ‘These 20 points are not like us. Changes have been made in them.
According to Dar, the original Muslim proposal demanded the full return of Israel from Gaza and ‘justified peace based on two-state solutions’. He further said that Trump personally assured Muslim leaders that he would stop any occupation of Israel on the west coast.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister emphasized that Pakistan’s original attitude has still not changed. He will never recognize Israel and will continue to support a Palestinian kingdom situated on the borders before 1967, which will be the capital Jerusalem (Al-Kuds Al Sharif). He also confirmed that the scheme has been said to deploy international peace soldiers in this scheme and Pakistan is considering whether soldiers should be sent or not.
