Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that Indian banks and regulatory institutions have Rs 1.84 lakh crore, who have no contenders. He said that these money has been kept completely safe and now these amounts will be given to the claimants or their families. A three -month ‘capital, your rights’ campaign was started in Gandhinagar, under which these amounts will be transferred to the claimants.
The Finance Minister said that the government is a focus on awareness, access and action to help re -get passive deposit, insurance amount and other money. Sitharaman assured the public to protect these properties and told about new digital equipment to make claims easier.
Sitharaman said that the purpose of this campaign is to ensure that every rupee rescued by Indian citizens will return them or their families and play the role of mentor till the settlement of claims. Not claimed deposits, insurance amount, dividend, mutual funds and pension are being checked. He said that these are not only the marks written on paper, but the hard earned money of common families which can be helpful in education, healthcare and financial security.
How to get this amount?
According to the Department of Financial Services (DFS), the amount without claim is Rs 1,84,000 crore. Sitharaman assured the citizens and said that it is completely safe. If you also have an uncovered amount, then you bring the appropriate papers and the money will be given to you. These claims have not been made money, banks, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Investors have been distributed in the Education and Conservation Fund (IEPF) on the basis of property. The Finance Minister said that we have to find out the real contenders for these money and have to hand over the money.
This campaign will work on 3A model
This campaign is based on the ‘3A’ model- Awareness, Accessibility and Action. Awareness informs citizens about exploiting unclaimed assets. Accessibility is a focus on access to digital devices and unknowable amounts. Action is to complete the settlement of the claim on time. The officials have been tasked to spread awareness and reach them.
Claims will also be able to do digital way
Sitharaman has urged citizens not to ignore even small needs. Easy digital portals including RBI’s UDGAM (uncured Deposit Gateway to Access Information) are being used to make the claim easier. He has advised that as soon as you claim, you get it. You can also take your uncovered amount by going to this portal of RBI.
