Danish Kaneria dismissed the rumors of taking Indian citizenship, expressed pride in Pakistani citizenship, accepted discrimination, currently living in America with family.
New Delhi. Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria has denied rumors of taking Indian citizenship. He has confirmed that he has no such plan. He currently lives in America with his family. Kaneria has expressed pride in her Pakistani citizenship, although she has also accepted the discrimination. He replied to the speculation that his positive comments on India’s internal affairs were inspired by the desire to get Indian citizenship.
In a post, Kaneria discussed her experiences of facing discrimination from Pakistani officials and Pakistan Cricket Board, including the pressure of conversion. He wrote, “Recently, I have seen that many people are questioning me, asking why I do not speak about Pakistan. Why do I comment on India’s internal affairs, and some are also alleging that I do all this for Indian citizenship. I think it is important to clean the record.”
“I have received a lot from Pakistan and its people, above, the love of the public. With that love, I have also suffered deep discrimination from Pakistani authorities and PCBs. It also includes forcible conversion attempts. India and its citizenship, I should be completely clean. Pakistan can be my birthplace, but India, my ancestors’ land, my motherland.”
Lately, I have seen many people questioning me, asking why I do not speake about Pakistan, why I comment on Bharat’s internal matters, and some even alleging that I do all this for Bharatiya Citizenship. I feel it is important to set the record straight.
