The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday (October 05, 2025) termed the reports of Russia on the supply of JF-17 jet engine to Pakistan and criticized the Congress for raising the issue on social media. The BJP accused the Congress of ‘favoring the enemy’ instead of India.
The Congress had said on Saturday (October 04, 2025), citing media news about the engine supplying engine for Pakistani fighter aircraft JF-17, that it is the failure of Modi government’s diplomacy and it should tell the country why a trusted partner of India, Russia, is giving military support to Pakistan?
Congress leader tweeted and accused BJP
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh cited reports that Russia is supplying advanced RD-93 mm engine for JF-17 fighter aircraft. Ramesh posted on ‘X’, ‘Modi government should clarify that Russia, which has once been India’s most trusted strategic partner, started supplying India’s upgraded RD-93 mm engine for Pakistan-made JF-17 fighters, ignoring all the appeal of India.
Ramesh claimed that the development exposes another failure of Prime Minister Modi’s personal diplomacy, which has been giving priority to the creation and global spectacle.
BJP reversed on Congress allegations
BJP IT department chief Amit Malviya retaliated and cited another media news and said that Russia has dismissed the claims that Moscow JF-17 Thunder Block-3 is proceeding on the supply of RD-93 mm engine to Pakistan for fighter aircraft.
He said that Ramesh trusted the news published in a newspaper, which cited a low-term website notorious for pro-Pakistan propaganda. Malaviya posted on ‘X’, ‘No official confirmation, no reliable source, just another round of irresponsible information war and the head of Congress, the head of the Congress, decided to take the enemy’s side instead of standing with India once again.’
