Perhaps he was intoxicated ... Lalit Modi puts his hand on Harbhajan's painful vein, fierce bhajjiHarbhajan Singh gave his first reaction.

New Delhi. In IPL 2008, the slap of Harbhajan Singh came out. He slapped fast bowler S Sreesanth. The video of this incident was recently revealed on social media. Bhajji accused him of leaking the video and pulled him fiercely by putting him on former IPL Commissioner Harbhajan Singh. Harbhajan said that when Modi decided to share this footage, he must have been “drunk”.

On August 29, Modi, who was the then IPL commissioner, shared this clip of IPL 2008 during an interview with former Australian captain Michael Clarke on Beyond 23 Cricket Podcast. Harbhajan Singh said, “I did not understand what was needed to make it public. Everyone’s thinking is different. Whatever happened was wrong and I have already apologized for it.”

Harbhajan Singh further said, “What happened between me and Sreesanth at that time was not right. As a player I don’t think I should have done this. People learn from their mistakes and if I had so much understanding in me, I would not have done it.”

Harbhajan had slapped Sreesanth under a strong slap while shaking hands after the match. Sreesanth was enraged by this incident and ran towards Harbhajan, after which the spinner also reacted the same. Irfan Pathan and Mahela Jayawardene immediately intervened and separated the two players, which saved the scuffle.

Harbhajan Singh said, “It is wrong to raise whatever happened 18 years ago. I really do not understand the purpose behind it. I think if it did not come in front, it would have been better because there was no need for it. I don’t know what they were thinking while releasing the video. Perhaps they were drunk or just joking. If I had been in his place, I would not have given such a video in this way.”
