Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 Dispute over Ram and Ravana BJP accused AAP of insulting Sita

Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: During the Delhi Assembly elections 2025, a heated argument has started between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding religion and the context of Ramayana. On Arvind Kejriwal’s statement about the golden deer of Ramayana, BJP has attacked him and termed him as “electoral Hindu”, while Aam Aadmi Party has hit back and called BJP leaders the descendants of Ravana.

Referring to an incident from Ramayana in the election rally, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Ram had gone to search for food, then Ravana came in the form of a golden deer and Sita asked Laxman to catch him. As soon as Laxman left from there, Ravana asked Sita to catch him.” Abducted.” After this statement, BJP accused Kejriwal of insulting religion and Ramayana.

BJP’s attack
Manoj Tiwari and other BJP leaders said that Arvind Kejriwal neither has knowledge of Ramayana nor any understanding towards religion. Manoj Tiwari described Kejriwal as an “electoral Hindu” and said that he takes recourse to religion only during elections. Tiwari also said that Kejriwal’s statement has insulted Mother Sita. BJP leaders made it clear that according to Ramayana, the golden deer was not Ravana but Maricha and Lakshman had gone to help Ram at the behest of Sita.

Aam Aadmi Party’s counterattack
AAP leaders even called BJP leaders descendants of Ravana. AAP alleged that Kejriwal mentioned Ravana and the BJP people who are upset over this are supporters of Ravana. Accusing BJP of doing politics of religion, the party said that religion is being used as a weapon to divert attention from the real issues in the elections.

Let us tell you that this dispute between Ram and Ravana is heated in Delhi politics. BJP has called it a case of insult to religion and culture. Whereas Aam Aadmi Party is retaliating by calling it a political stunt.
