Yogi government’s question on Halal certification: Can gram flour flour also be Halal?

Uttar Pradesh government has raised questions on Halal certification in the Supreme Court. The government says that how can products like cement, brick, rebar and gram flour get Halal certification? The organizations providing Halal certification are accused of earning huge financial profits from it. By charging various fees, these organizations are certifying as Halal even such products which have nothing to do with religious purity. Hearing on this issue is going on in the Supreme Court.
