The Indore police has registered an FIR against an unknown person for begging a beggar in the cleanest city in India. This is probably the first case of its kind in Madhya Pradesh.
A case has been registered against an unknown person under Section 223 (disobedience of order issued by public servant) of an unknown person for begging a female beggar sitting in front of a temple on Khandwa Road.
The Bhanwarkuan police station has registered a case against the unknown person on the complaint of an official of the begging eradication team. Under BNS Section 223, the convict may be imprisoned for up to one year or a fine of up to Rs 5,000 or both.
According to officials, the administration, which aims to make Indore the country’s first beggar -free city, has banned begging begging, begging them and buying any goods from them. He informed that a provision has been made to register an FIR for violating this ban.
District administration officials said that the administration has also announced a reward of Rs 1,000 to those who give information about beggars and so far this amount has been received for informing many people.
