Karnataka CM: Congress can change its Chief Minister in Karnataka. Although nothing has been officially said by the party regarding this, there is speculation about the statement given by CM Siddaramaiah. After winning the elections in the state, it was reportedly decided that the Chief Minister would be changed after two and a half years.
The name of Deputy CM DK Shivkumar is leading in the race for the post of Chief Minister. Siddaramaiah’s statements last Thursday indicated that talks had taken place between him and DK Shivakumar. According to media reports, he said that ultimately the high command has to take decisions on everything.
According to Times of India, this statement of Siddaramaiah is being linked to his earlier statements, when he talked about completing the five-year tenure and denied the news of change of Chief Minister in the state. However, when DK Shivkumar was asked about this, he rejected any ambition for any post. He said that we will continue to do our work. Only the party high command will decide on leadership.
DK Shivkumar took blessings from Jain Guru
Shivkumar took blessings from Jain spiritual guru Gunadhar Nandi Maharaj on Thursday. Regarding the blessings of the religious guru to become the Chief Minister, he said that he is free to give blessings as per his wish and we respect it. However, the party’s decisions are supreme and we will follow it.
Congress had registered victory in 2023
Congress had won the 2023 assembly elections in Karnataka. At that time both DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah were in the race for the post of CM. However, the party made Siddaramaiah the Chief Minister and DK Shivakumar was made the Deputy CM. Then it was said that the CM would be changed in the state after two and a half years.
