US President Donald Trump: Donald Trump has taken oath as the President of America. In his first address after taking oath, Donald Trump talked about American control over Greenland. He had said this several times even during his election campaign. Meanwhile, a Danish MP has expressed his opposition to this statement of Donald Trump. Apart from this, he has scolded Trump a lot.
Used abusive words for Trump
Greenland has been part of Denmark for many decades. Speaking in the European Parliament in this context, Danish MP Anders Vistisen said, “Dear President Trump, you pay attention and listen, Greenland has been a part of Denmark for 800 years. It is an integral part of our country. It is for sale. I want to explain this to you in simple words.” After this he used abusive words against Donald Trump.
However, European Parliament Vice President Nicole Stefanuta immediately reprimanded Anders. He said that such language is not allowed in the House. The House will not function like this. Earlier, Greenland’s Prime Minister Mute Inga had said that Greenland belongs to its people and it is not for sale.
Know what are Trump’s intentions
Donald Trump has said many times that America needs Greenland for national security. For this reason American control over Greenland is very important. Now the question in everyone’s mind is why Trump wants control over Greenland. Actually, this is because of the strategic location of Greenland. It is only a part of the North American continent but if seen geopolitically, it is also connected to Europe. Trump wants to control this by citing national security. But the real reason behind this is that they want to utilize the natural resources present on this piece of land.
It is noteworthy that Greenland was a colony of Denmark till 1953. Even at present Denmark has control over it, but there is a semi-autonomous government here. The government of Greenland takes decisions ranging from domestic policies to other matters, while the government of Denmark has the right to take defense and foreign related matters.
