The reason for the mysterious death of 17 people has come to light in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who attended a program in Kathua, said that initial investigation has revealed that a poisonous substance has led to deaths. Poison is being identified.

At the same time, Dr. Sudhir Gupta, professor in AIIMS and head of toxicology, said that poisonous substance can be natural or chemical. It can also be pesticides or gas. Intensive examination is needed to detect this.

Since December 7, 17 people have died in Badhal village of Rajouri. At the same time, 5 people are admitted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu in critical condition.

On January 22, a woman was brought to GMC, Jammu after her health deteriorated.

Village made containment zone On January 22, after the health of the three sisters deteriorated, Badhal, the village of Rajouri, was made a containment zone. Crowd gathering there has been banned. The three sisters are between 16 and 22 years old.

He was earlier admitted to GMC in Rajouri. After the deterioration, he was referred to Jammu. One of the first 25 -year -old youth Ejaz Ahmed was brought to GMC Jammu but PGI was referred to Chandigarh when the condition did not improve.

  • The first zone is covering families in which deaths have occurred. The houses of these families have been sealed and entry has been banned here for all people. Family members are also not being allowed to go here. They have to get the approval of the officers to go here.
  • In the second containment zone, those who come in contact with the affected people, ie family, have been kept. They have been shifted to the Government Medical College. His health is being monitored. All the families of the village are kept in the third zone.
  • In the third containment zone, the medical staff is constantly monitoring the food of the villagers. Only the officer posted by the hospital will give food and water to the people. Anything already existing here has been banned. The police team is also present here.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reached village Badhal to meet the victim’s families on 21 January. In a conversation with the media, Omar said- this is not a disease, so the police is investigating it. SIT has been formed. The central government has also deployed a team. She has been a sample collect.

I assure everyone that the efforts of the administration, police and the Government of India are going on, soon all the questions will be answered. If this is a disease, then our biggest responsibility has to be decided that it does not spread.

The Chief Minister also met Mohammad Aslam, who lost six children. Aslam was adopted by his maternal uncle and maternal uncle, he has also died of the disease. Aslam and his wife are survived in the family.

Home Ministry formed Inter -Ministerial team for investigation Home Minister Amit Shah ordered to form an inter -ministerial team on 18 January to investigate these deaths. This high level team reached the village on Sunday. The Ministry of Home Affairs is leading the team.

The team consists of experts from the Ministry of Health, Agriculture, Chemicals and Water Resources. Along with investigating the cause of death, it will also take necessary steps to prevent such deaths further.

Earlier on January 15, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gaurav Sikarwar of Reasi district formed SIT. The SIT of 11 members is chaired by Superintendent of Police (Operation) Wajahat Hussain.

Health Minister had said- neuro-toxin found in dead

Minister Sakina Masood had said that if these deaths had occurred due to any disease, they would have spread rapidly and would not have been limited to only three families. However, some health experts have said that ‘neuro-toxin’ should be found in the samples of the dead.

The Health Minister said that the government is taking help of the National Level Health Institutes. This includes the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) of Pune, National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) of Delhi, Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) of Gwalior and PGI Chandigarh.
