The 3 -member judicial commission set up by the UP government will visit the spot tomorrow to investigate the stampede at the confluence of Mahakumbh. Retired judge of Allahabad High Court Harsh Kumar, who is chairing the committee, said that the Commission has a month to complete its investigation, but we will try to complete the investigation as soon as possible.
An official statement said that Harsh Kumar and the member of the panel, former Director General of Police (DGP) VK Gupta and retired IAS DK Singh reached their office today and have started their work.
According to PTI, Harsh Kumar said that we have taken charge within a few hours of the announcement, because the investigation has to be taken on priority basis. When asked about the deadline of investigation, he said that we have a month’s timeline, but still we will try to complete it fast. Asked whether the three members will investigate different aspects. On this, Harsh Kumar said that we will discuss this among ourselves. Can not tell in detail right now.
