Prominent players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Lokesh Rahul, Rishabh Pant and themselves are now ready to return to the team for a three -match ODI series against England before going to Dubai for the ICC Champions Trophy. Now Varun Chakraborty has also entered it. This was revealed by Shubman Gill. BCCI also gave information about this through social media.

Gill told reporters, “A series does not define the rhythm of the entire team. There are many players who have performed well in many series and tournaments in the past. There is no doubt that we failed to play according to our expectations in Australia. However, we also played some good cricket. The team did not get luck on the last day of that tour because (Jaspreet) Bumrah was injured.

Gill further said, “If we had won the match, the series would have left on par and we would keep the trophy with us. In such a situation, such things are not happening right now. We have included Varun Chakraborty in the squad. We hope that he will perform better.

He was the highest wicket-taking bowler in India’s 4–1 win in the T20 series ended Sunday against England. He took 14 wickets at an economy of 7.66 and an average of 9.86. Now it has to be seen whether he gets a chance in the ODI series against England or not.
