India is going to achieve the fourth squadron of the Russian-made S-400 air defense system by the end of this year. Sources have confirmed that the fifth squadron is expected to come in 2026. India has already received three squadrons of the S-400 system. They have been deployed at various places.
In 2018, India signed a deal of about ₹ 35,000 crore for five squadron of the S-400 system with Russia. This advanced air defense system plays an important role in the protection of strategic places in India.

S-400 will be in major areas of deployment
A squadron has been deployed to protect the Siliguri Corridor. Another squadron has been deployed in the Pathankot region to strengthen the defense of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. A squadron has been deployed on the western border of India to ensure safety of important places in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Due to the presence of S-400 air defense missile system with India, China or Pakistan will not be able to do nefarious actions from across the border. After the remaining units of this air defense missile system, the security of the country will become impregnable. Training of operators of S-400 missile system has been completed.
