Delhi Assembly Election Results 2025: Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 has ended the BJP’s decades of drought. After 27 years, ‘Kamal’ is fed in the country’s capital. After the fierce victory in Delhi, now there are BJP and NDA coalition governments in 19 states. In 2018, the BJP alliance equaled Indira Gandhi’s record. At that time, NDA had the record of forming government in most states of the country, because NDA reached 21 states by forming a government in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland. With this, the BJP alliance equaled the Congress records during Indira’s reign.
After winning the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became PM for the third time as Prime Minister. Under his leadership, the BJP contested elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Maharashtra and Jharkhand this year, including the party in 5 states Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal, Odisha, Haryana and Maharashtra.
BJP in power on its own and how many states in power
First of all, if we talk about North India, now there is a BJP government in Delhi, UP, Haryana, and Uttarakhand except Himachal and Punjab. BJP has government in both Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in Central India. There is an NDA alliance in Bihar of eastern India and BJP government in Odisha. At the same time, BJP is in power in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Goa of West India. Talking about the Northeast, there is a BJP government (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura), while in Meghalaya and Nagaland there are NDA coalition governments. Only Andhra Pradesh in South India has a BJP coalition government.
The BJP has been in power in Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh with the country’s largest assembly, the Chief Minister is Yogi Adityanath. The next assembly election in UP will be held in 2027. BJP is in power with Nitish Kumar in Bihar. Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister of Bihar continuously since 2015. Nitish was first with the India alliance, later he came with the NDA.
BJP is in power for the third consecutive time in Haryana. The party won the 2014 and 2019 elections here before the victory in 2024. Naib Singh Saini is the current Chief Minister. There is also a BJP government in Uttarakhand. In the assembly elections held in 2022, BJP won 47 seats in 70 seats. Pushkar Singh Dhami is the current Chief Minister. The next assembly elections in the state will be held in 2027.
Assembly elections were held in Rajasthan in 2023, in which BJP won 115 seats out of 200 seats. Bhajan Lal Sharma is the current Chief Minister of Rajasthan. There is also a BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. The current Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took oath as Chief Minister on 13 December 2023. In the 2023 assembly elections, BJP won 163 out of 230 seats. The current Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh is Vishnu Dev Sai. He was sworn in as Chief Minister on 13 December 2023. In the last assembly election, BJP won 54 seats in 90 assembly seats. The Congress was able to win only 35 seats.
Elections were held in 2024 in 147 assembly seats in Odisha, where BJP won 78 seats. The current Chief Minister of Odisha is Mohan Charan Majhi. The last assembly election in Gujarat was held in 2022, where BJP won 156 in 182 seats. Let us know that since 1998, there is a continuous BJP government in Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has been the Chief Minister from here for 3 consecutive times. Bhupendra Patel is the current Chief Minister. There is a NDA government in Maharashtra. BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis is the Chief Minister here. Shinde and Ajit Pawar have been made deputy CMs.
Pramod Sawant is the Chief Minister of NDA in Goa. In the assembly elections held in 2022, BJP won 26 seats. Pramod Sawant has become the Chief Minister of Goa for the second consecutive time. There is a NDA government in Andhra Pradesh. The current Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time on 12 June 2024.
Assembly elections in these states in 2026-2027 and 2028
There will be assembly elections in 5 states in 2026, including West Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee is the Chief Minister of the state for the last 14 years. There is a BJP coalition government in Assam and Puducherry. There is DMK-Congress alliance in Tamil Nadu and Left in Kerala. Assembly elections will be held in 2027 in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Punjab, Goa, and Manipur. Assembly elections of 10 states are to be held in 2028. These include Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
