Why the station was closed?
Prayagraj Sangam railway station (Daraganj) has been closed till 28 February. The administration has told the huge crowd behind this. If the crowd remains like this, then Prayagraj Sangam station can be kept closed further. In this regard, the DM wrote a letter to the Divisional Railway Manager. RPF and GRP personnel posted at the station have also been asked to stay in alert mode.
The letter said that a large number of devotees/bathing people are coming to Mahakumbh-2025, in such a situation, it is necessary to stop the movement of railway passengers from Daraganj from 17 February to 28 February 2025 for their easy, safe and well-organized traffic.
Regarding this, Prayagraj DM Ravindra Kumar Mandar requested the Divisional Railway Manager to keep the Daraganj railway station closed for the movement of passengers on the above date. Please tell that Sangam railway station falls in Daraganj area of ​​Mahakumbh area. This is the closest railway station in the fair area.
