CM Devendra Fadnavis Downgrades Security Cover for Over 20 Shiv Sena Mlas Deputy CM Eknath Shinde Held a review meeting

Shinde vs fadnavis: Everything is not good between Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This can be gauged from a recent decision of Fadnavis government. In fact, Fadnavis on Monday (17 February) cut the security of 20 Shiv Sena MLAs of Eknath Shinde faction. These leaders were earlier given Y+ security, but now it has been reduced to only one constable.

However, CM Fadnavis has also withdrawn the security provided to NCP leaders led by some BJP and Ajit Pawar as a balance, but their number is much less than Shinde’s MLAs. Let us tell you that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has kept the Home Department in the Maharashtra government.

This dispute between Fadnavis and Shind is not new. Ever since the election results in Maharashtra, the two leaders had started showing estrangement about the Chief Minister’s chair. Since then, this dispute has been seen increasing on many occasions.

Shinde’s separate meeting
On Monday, another incident took place before this action of Fadnavis. Eknath Shinde held a review meeting of the Department of Industries, while Fadnavis had held a meeting of this department in January itself. This department is with Uday Samanta, the leader of Shinde faction. Uday Samanta had said in a letter recently that the department officials are not giving them information about the major policies. This was the reason that Deputy CM Shinde took a meeting again.

Shinde was absent from the meeting for Kumbh Mela
Last month, Shinde did not attend a meeting of the Nashik Metropolitan Development Authority called by Fadnavis on the preparations for the Kumbh Mela in 2027 and later held a separate review meeting on the subject. Recently, Shinde established the Deputy Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Cell in the Ministry and appointed his close aide as its head. This was the first time that a Deputy Chief Minister established another such cell despite the Chief Minister’s Relief Cell being in existence.
