New Delhi Railway Station Stampede RPF and Delhi Police Release Different Numbers of Death

New delhi railway station stampede: Confusion has surfaced about the number of deaths in the stampede on Saturday (February 15) at New Delhi railway station on Saturday (February 15). Delhi Police and Railway Police Force (RPF) have released separate data of deaths. Although these figures have been given on the basis of preliminary inquiry, now the matter is being closely investigated from both sides.

The Delhi Police had told the next morning of the incident that a total of 18 people have been killed in this accident, but after that when RPF issued a press note in this case, it was clearly written in 20 deaths.

In the press note issued by RPF, it was written, “A total of 30 injured passengers were sent to three hospitals in Delhi, out of which 20 were killed and 10 people are being treated.” Now the question is that even after three days of the incident, it is not clear how many deaths have occurred in that stampede?

300 railway employees questioned
At the time of the incident at the railway station, about 300 employees of different departments of the railway were present. There were about 80 employees of RPF. Personal statement has been sought from all. More than 400 statements have been sought. The inquiry committee will cross it and reach a conclusion

‘CCTV checking footage, also taking statements from eyewitnesses’
Narasimha Dev (Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Northern Railway) said, ‘We have started investigation. We are trying to understand all the evidence. We have also seen CCTV footage. We are also taking statements of eyewitnesses. After examining all kinds of evidence, an investigation report will be prepared and the administration will be given.

What did RPF cause the cause of the accident?
It has been reported in the press release, after being released from the Sivaganga Express (12560) platform 12, the number of passengers going to Prayagraj suddenly started increasing, causing foot over bridge 2 and 3 choke. In such a situation, jam situation arose on platforms 12-13, 14-15 and 16. After this, the station director was forbidden to sell more tickets.

At the time when an attempt was being made to clear Fob 2 and 3, at the same time there was an announcement at around 8:45 pm that the Kumbh Special train going to Prayagraj would go from platform 12. Shortly after this, there was an announcement once again that Kumbh will go from the special platform 16. Due to this, a stampede situation arose among the passengers.

At that time, Magadh Express on platform 14 and North Sampark Kranti on platform 15 stood. It became impossible for the passengers to move back and forth due to the crowd of Prayagraj Express being on platform 14. After the re-changed announcement, passengers started trying to climb foot over bridge 2 and 3 via platforms 12-13 and 14-15.

The passengers trying to climb with the passengers who were trying to get down the stairs of Magadh Express, North Sampark and Prayagraj Express trains were pushed, some people slipped and injured.
