Aimim on Ramadan Leave in Maharashtra: After the decision of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh government to reduce the working hours for Muslim employees during Ramadan, a similar demand is being raised in Maharashtra. AIMIM leader Waris Pathan on Wednesday (February 18, 2025) urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to be discharged by 4 pm to Muslim employees.

Waris Pathan’s statement

He said, “This practice has been going on in Telangana for 25 years and now the Andhra Pradesh government has also implemented it. The Maharashtra government should also issue such an order so that people who keep the fast can go home and make it iftar comfortably.” He further said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, then it should also be implemented. When the Andhra Pradesh government can do this, why not Maharashtra?”

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh government’s decision

The Telangana government has allowed Muslim government employees to leave the office one hour earlier during Ramadan. Similarly, the Andhra Pradesh government also issued an order to leave Muslim employees from March 2 to March 30 from March 2 to March 30.
