US President Donald Trump said that the ceasefire agreement with Ukraine is ‘in Russia’s interest’ and he feels President Vladimir Putin wants to do so. After bilateral talks, Trump said this at a joint press conference. French President Macron said that to end the war, it is very important to take care of the security guarantee in any conversation agreement.
The two leaders met at the White House in 2022 on the occasion of the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Russia. Earlier, the US took a different stand from its European colleagues on the proposal condemning Russia as an attacker in the United Nations General Assembly.
What did Trump say on the question of relying on Putin
President Trump was asked about relying on Putin, he said, & ldquo; It is in Russia’s interest to compromise and I think we will do so. Both sides have tremendous disbelief. & Rdquo; He further said that at the beginning of his second term, he made the first phone to President Putin because he feels that Putin is ready to compromise.
He said, & ldquo; It is beneficial for Russia to make an agreement and continue the leadership of Putin Russia positively. & Rdquo;
wishing to sign an agreement with Ukraine
Trump also said that he is keen to sign an agreement with Ukraine, in which the US will get rights over rare minerals from Ukraine, while in return Ukraine will be given billions of dollars for his safety.
President Macron met Trump in Washington after several rounds of meetings with European colleagues. He said, & ldquo; I think it is very important to bring peace. & Rdquo; Macron spoke in English, which is not his first language. He repeatedly emphasized that there should be security guarantee in any peace agreement, which should be checked and verified.
He said, & ldquo; I believe, try to achieve something that can be evaluated, investigated and verified and make sure that we can give adequate guarantee in a short term. & Rdquo;
He further said, & ldquo; Many of my European allies are ready to join it, but we need American support, as it is part of the reliability of security guarantee and it is also part of our collective preventive. & RDQUO; < /p>
