On the occasion of Mahashivaratri, there was a clash between two groups of students at South Asian University (SAU) in Delhi on Wednesday. Students Federation of India (SFI) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) accused each other of inciting violence.

Vidyarthi Parishad wrote on social media- On the occasion of Mahashivaratri, a large number of students fasted at South Asian University. Respecting religious faith, these students had already told the Mess Administration that satvic food should be arranged for them on this special day. The mess in -charge arranged for satvic food in one of the two mess halls.
In the afternoon, some students were eating fast. Then the leftist goons deliberately tried to spoil religious harmony. When satvic food was being served in the mess, people associated with SGI forcibly served non -veg food. After this he started fighting.
SFI said- University’s mess is a public place
SFI wrote a letter to the Delhi State Committee. In which it was said that the university’s mess is a public place and no private assets of anyone. It is undemocratic and unrighteous to impose the practices of food of one community on another community. On opposing this, ABVP goons beat up students in the mess. Women students grabbed their hair and dragged them violently. Strict action should be taken against them.
