A court in Bhadohi sentenced a 17 -year -old boy to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a 15 -year -old girl and making her pregnant. Special Public Prosecutor Kaulleshwar Nath Pandey said on Saturday that the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict.
Rape for three days
Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik said that on the afternoon of 25 November 2023, when the girl’s parents were not in the house, she was raped by the neighborhood boy. The police officer said that the convict raped her for three days and threatened to kill everyone after telling anyone about the incident.
Had to get an abortion
Manglik said that a few days after the incident, when the girl complained of feeling unwell, her mother took her to the hospital, where she was discovered that she was pregnant. The girl had to undergo an abortion on 29 March 2024 and two days later she lodged a police complaint.
Sentenced to 20 years
Manglik said that on the complaint of the girl, a case has been registered against her 17 -year -old neighbor under sections 376 (sentence for rape) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and POCSO Act. Additional District Judge (Poxo) Madhu Dogra on Friday convicted the boy and sentenced him to 20 years rigorous imprisonment.
