Kolkata business family deaths: In the ‘Kolkata Day Family Suicide Case’, which has been making headlines across the country for the last two weeks, the police has found out the reason, due to which the family had planned collective suicide. The police found out from the statements and investigations of the survivors of the de family that the family decided to take this step due to financial constraints.
The police in their investigation found that the Day Brothers had taken a loan of 15 crore from 6 different banks and financial institutions. Apart from this, he also borrowed 4 crore from some people. He pledged his Tangra House and the factory. He had a property in Bolpur, he was also trying to sell it. The jewels in the house were also mortgaged to raise 19 lakh rupees. Jewelry was pledged to give salary to the workers. There was another property, she was also mortgaged.
Police found that Dey Brothers had also withdrawn their trade license from Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) last year and also stopped their silk export business in Bolpur. Investigation revealed that the bad days for the day family had started long ago but the financial crisis intensified from December 2023. This situation created this situation due to decline in exports throughout Europe and some of their old vendors and partners. However, despite the frequent losses, the Day Family did not cut its expenses.

Prannoy lived with his wife Sudeshna and son Pritap Day in Atal Sur Lane of Tangra. His younger brother Prasoon Kumar Dey also lived with wife Romi and daughter Priyamvada in this house. Due to financial constraints, Prannoy Dey made a collective suicide plan of the entire family for the first time on 10 February. He told this to his younger brother Prasoon. On 18 February, the four adults decided to die by cutting their wrist. The women of the house could not do this, so Prasoon Day first cut his wife Romi and later sister -in -law Sudeshna’s wrist.
After this, he grew to kill the nephew Pritp, but the elder brother changed the plan and asked to suicide through the accident. The three people got out of the car at night and got the accident an accident on the EM bypass at night. However, all three people survived in this accident.
