On February 25, a 26 -year -old woman was raped in a bus parked at Pune’s government Swargate bus depot. During the court hearing in this case on Tuesday, the victim’s lawyer said- false stories about the woman are being spread.
It is being said that the victim already knew the accused. He had also taken money from him and everything between them was done by mutual consent of both.
The lawyer requested the court to order such false stories to be stopped. Also told the court that the image of all these victims is being tarnished, due to which she is under mental pressure.

The accused had told the victim- where are you going to Didi Giving information about the incident, Pune Deputy Commissioner Smartana Patil said- 26-year-old woman works in homes. She was waiting for the bus to go to her village around 5 am on February 25. The accused called her Didi and asked her where are you going? The victim told that I have to go to my village.
After this he told him that your bus is standing elsewhere. Come on, I leave. The victim said- No, just comes here. On this, the accused said that I have been here for 10 years, let’s leave. The woman agreed and with her the bus went towards the parking area.
The young man pointed to the Shivshahi bus and asked him to go inside. There was no light in the bus. On this, the woman hesitated and asked the young man – the light is not burning. The young man told him that other passengers were sleeping, so it is dark. As soon as she climbed the bus, the accused closed the door and raped her.

The event was 5.30 am According to the Pune police, after the incident, the victim started catching another bus and started going to his village. Before that he called a friend and told him to complain to the police. The incident took place at 5.30 am.
The CCTV footage is seen talking to the accused woman. Accused Dattatreya Ramdas Gade has been identified. He has a criminal record. He is currently absconding. According to sources, the police station is 100 meters from the spot.

On reaching home, he changed his clothes and shoes. After this he also left the house. The accused was arrested by the police late on Thursday night. The accused is in police custody till 12 March.
The police knew from the sources that the accused could hide in the sugarcane fields in the village itself. The police was looking for him with the help of drones and investigative dogs. The police formed 13 teams to arrest the accused.
