Earthquake in manipur: Earthquake tremors were felt twice in a row on Wednesday (5 March 2025) in Manipur. One of these earthquakes was 5.7 and earthquake tremors were felt throughout the Northeast. According to officials of the regional earthquake science center in Shillong, an earthquake of 5.7 magnitude occurred in the state at 11:06 pm. Its center was 44 kilometers east of Jareipok in Imphal Eastern district and at a depth of 110 km.
Earthquake tremors were also felt in Assam, Meghalaya
He said that earthquake tremors were felt in Assam, Meghalaya and other parts of the region. Another earthquake of 4.1 magnitude occurred in Manipur at 12.20 pm. An official of the Earthquake Science Center at Shillong said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 66 km in Kamjong district of the state. After the earthquake, cracks were seen in several buildings in Manipur.
In the video shared on social media, cracks are seen in a school building in Wangjing Lamding in Thobal district, where a relief camp is being run for people affected by ethnic conflict. An official in Imphal said, “We are engaged in confirmation of the information about the loss.” There is no information about any loss in other states of the region so far.
Earthquake tremors were felt in many places
On March 3, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Bay of Bengal, which had 70 kilometers. It was in the sea field, so there was not much effect. Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR at 5:37 am on 17 February 2025 at 5:37 am. Its center was near Dhaula Kuan. On February 16, a four -time earthquake of magnitude 3.5 to 4.5 magnitude occurred in Tibet, whose shocks were felt till Arunachal Pradesh. Earthquakes of magnitude were felt at 4.0 am on February 28 in the surrounding areas including Patna, the capital of Bihar.
