ICC Rankings Updates: The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 being played in Pakistan’s hosting has now reached the final round. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team has been invincible and entered the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest ranking of players on Wednesday (5 March).
In this, the Indian team’s star leg spinner Varun Chakraborty has rocked. He performed Dhansu in the Champions Trophy, due to which he benefited bumper. In the bowlers rankings, Varun jumped 143 places and entered the top-100. Varun has now reached number 97.
Varun Chakraborty played 2 matches so far in the Champius Trophy 2025, taking 7 wickets. Out of these 7 wickets, 5 wickets have been taken in a single match. He took this 5 wickets in the match against New Zealand. While he took 2 wickets in the semi -finals against Australia.
Kohli also benefits due to a century
On the other hand, Shubman Gill holds the top in the batting rankings. While Virat Kohli has benefited by 1 position and he has reached number four. Apart from this, captain Rohit Sharma has lost 2 places. They have slipped to number five.
Virat Kohli is currently at number three in the top scorer of Champions Trophy 2025. He has scored 217 runs in 4 matches at a strong average of 72.33. During this, he also played a century of 100 runs against Pakistan.
Akshar jumped 17 places
Captain Rohit Sharma’s form has not been good in the tournament. He played 4 matches so far, scoring 104 runs at a very bad average of 26. His best score has been 41 runs. They have suffered it. The top-10 batting rankings also include Gill, Kohli and Rohit besides Shreyas Iyer. He has come at number 8 to climb a rung.
Akshar has also benefited bumper in the list of all -rounders. He has jumped 17 places. Spin all -rounder Akshar Patel has now reached number 13. Ravindra Jadeja is the only Indian in the list of top-10 all-rounders, who is at number 9.
