Electric car manufacturer Tesla is fully prepared to open its first showroom in India. According to a report by news agency Reuters, Allen Musk’s company will open its showroom in Mumbai and the lease deal has been signed for this. Tesla will initially sell cars in India (will sell in India and sell it in India).

According to the registration paper of the lease deal, Tesla’s first showroom in India will be located in the Bandra Kurla Complex’s business and the maker Maxity Building in the retail hub. Last month, Tesla released an advertisement for hiring at least 13 employees on its LinkedIn page. In this, the job location was said to be Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Work place was on-site.

32 lakh rupees hired space for a month

Tesla has done this lease deal for 5 years, which will start from February 16, 2025. The company will pay an annual (Rs 32 lakh per month) rent of Rs 3,87,56,113 (USD 446,000) for space 4,003 square feet (372 sq meter) space. According to the lease registration paper provided by the analytics firm CRE Matrix to the Reuters, the fare will increase by 5% every year, which will reach about Rs 4,70,98,505 (USD 542,000) in the 5th year.

Apart from Mumbai, Tesla is also considering opening a showroom in New Delhi. Tesla’s first car for the Indian market will be a relatively affordable model that can start at around Rs 22,00,000 (about US $ 25,000). Since the company has no immediate plan to start manufacturing electric cars in India, they can be imported from Germany.

Initially model 3 and model Y will be launched
