Mani Shankar Aiyar on Rajiv Gandhi – ‘How did the PM have failed twice?’ NTC

Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has once again raised controversy with his statement. But this time there is no BJP or any leader on his target, but former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Iyer, while commenting on Rajiv Gandhi’s educational qualification, disturbed the Congress, gave the BJP a chance to take sarcasm.

A video of Mani Shankar Iyer is viral on social media, in which he can be heard saying- When Rajiv Gandhi became Prime Minister, I and many others questioned it, because he was an airline pilot, had failed twice in the university, how could he be made Prime Minister. However, it is not clear when the video was shot. Perhaps this can be of Iyer’s recent interview.

In the video, Mani Shankar Aiyar says, “When Rajiv Gandhi became Prime Minister, people thought, leave others … I thought, he is an airline pilot, he has failed twice… I had studied with him in Cambridge… He failed where it is considered very easy to pass. First division in Cambridge is easier than failing. Because the university tries to maintain its image to pass at least all. After this, he enrolled at Imperial College London, but failed there too. Therefore, I wondered how such a person can become Prime Minister.

This video of Mani Shankar Iyer was also posted on X by BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya. The Congress rejected the comments of Mani Shankar Aiyar as irrelevant and defended the former PM as one of the top leaders of India, defending them. Please tell that Iyer has also written a book on Rajiv Gandhi titled ‘The Rajiv I New’. The Congress calls him ‘father of information revolution’ in India. Reacting to Iyer’s comments in the viral video, Congress leaders rejected him saying that there was no relevance in his party.

Congress leaders told Iyer frustrated

On Mani Shankar Aiyar’s statement, Congress leader Harish Rawat said, ‘I do not want to comment on any desperate person. I knew Rajiv Gandhi, he gave the country a modern vision. On Mani Shankar Aiyar’s remarks regarding the educational qualification of former PM Rajiv Gandhi, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said, ‘Amit Malviya has a habit of editing things. How correct is right in this and how wrong, only Mani Shankar Iyer can tell. But the question is not whether Rajiv Gandhi passed or failed. How was Rajiv Gandhi as Prime Minister? What kind of work did Rajiv Gandhi do after becoming Prime Minister?

He further said, ‘If you want to analyze Rajiv Gandhi, then you have to analyze his work … BJP people are not ready to show the PM degree. The PM himself says that he used to sell tea and matriculation is near, but we do not see him because of his education. We see him as PM because of his work. Lal Bahadur Shastri never went to Cambridge but was a competent Prime Minister. Therefore Rajiv Gandhi was a competent Prime Minister. He has given a lot to the country.

Congress MP Tariq Anwar said, ‘Failing is not a big deal; Even the best people sometimes fail. But he (Rajiv Gandhi) did not fail in politics. When he was given political responsibility and became Prime Minister, I believe that there have been very few Prime Ministers in our country who have achieved so much in just 5 years.
