India air force: The Indian Air Force will include 114 fighter jets in its fleet in the next 5 to 10 years. A high level committee of the Ministry of Defense has given its consent on this scheme. These fighter jets will take the front instead of the fighter aircraft retiring in the coming years.
According to sources, in the next four to five years, the Indian Air Force will include fighter aircraft through global tenders. The inclusion of 114 fighter aircraft will help the Air Force to maintain its squadron power for the next 10 years. Actually, by 2037, 10 squadron of fighter aircraft are to retire. That is, many fighter jets will be excluded from the Indian Air Force in 10 to 12 years. These include fighter jets like Jaguar, Mirage-20000 and MiG-29. In such a situation, there is no shortage in India’s sky strength, so the Ministry of Defense is moving towards replacing these aircraft.
Focus on fifth generation aircraft
According to sources, the aircraft included in the tender include Rafael, Gripane, Eurofighter Typhoon, MiG-31 and F-16 fighter jets. These aircraft have also participated in the previous tender for 126 fighter aircraft. It is also reported that by the year 2047, the Indian Air Force wants to reach the number of its squadron to 60. Let us know that apart from 114 fighter jets, different versions of indigenous fighter aircraft ‘Tejas’ like Mark-1A and Mark-2 will also be included in the Air Force fleet during this period.

Currently, the Indian Air Force has only 36 fighter jets of 4.5 generations. These are all Rafale aircraft taken from France. In such a situation, the Air Force needs to increase the number of such aircraft to increase its strength.
