Pakistan’s Hindu Rights Organization urged the government on Tuesday (March 11, 2025) to ensure complete security and necessary arrangements to celebrate Holi and other festivals of Hindus at the ancient Prahladpuri temple in Multan city of Punjab province.
Prahladpuri temple is dedicated to Hindu deity Narasimha. According to folklore, the festival of Holi started from this temple, although the temple is in a shabby condition at the present time.
In a statement, the president of the All Pakistan Hindu Rights Movement, Aaron Sarab Diyal urged the government to ensure complete security and necessary arrangements for Pakistani Hindus to celebrate Holi and other festivals in the temple from 14 to 16 March.
He also urged the officials to resolve their safety concerns with the local Hindu community in southern Punjab.
Diyal said, ‘If our demand for complete security is not met, then we will be obliged to raise our voice on every available platform using our constitutional and moral rights.’
He expressed disappointment over the behavior of Hindus in Pakistan, saying, ‘As a Pakistani Hindu, we are being denied constitutional rights to worship and celebrate our cultural and religious traditions."Text-Align: justify;"> Diyal expressed regret, saying, ‘It is disappointing to see our ancient temples neglected and abandoned. Apart from this, we also have to get permission from the authorities to enter our places of worship. ‘
