Kiev has agreed to the 30 -day ceasefire agreement over the Russia Ukraine War. America says that now he will go to Russia with this proposal.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States is expecting positive response. If the answer is ‘not’, then it will tell Washington a lot about the real intentions of Kremlin.
Rubio said that Moscow will be contacted on Wednesday. He said that Europe would have to be included in any security guarantee for Ukraine, and the sanctions imposed by Europe will also be discussed.
Asked if Russia can accept an unconditional ceasefire, Rubio said, “This is what we want to know – are they ready to do so unconditionally.”
After a conversation with Ukrainian and US authorities in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Kiev announced to accept the ceasefire proposal.
Rubio said that the US will now take the jointly signed proposal to Russia, and the ball is now in Moscow’s court.
The US-Ukraine joint statement stated that Ukraine has expressed a desire to accept the US proposal to implement the interim-30-day ceasefire immediately, which can be extended by mutual agreement by parties.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky said in his video address that the US has proposed a full interim ceasefire, which will prevent missiles, drones and bomb attacks not only in the Black Sea but also on the entire front line.
“Ukraine is ready to accept this proposal – we see it as a positive step and are ready to adopt it.”
