Marathi language controversy, A new controversy has arisen in Maharashtra about Marathi language. A video of a female employee of a major telecom company has gone viral, in which she is refusing to talk to a customer in Marathi. After this video went viral, Maharashtra BJP’s Mahila Morcha President and Legislative Council Member (MLC) Chitra Wagh has reacted strongly to this.
Chitra Wagh raised this issue and said, “If someone lives in Maharashtra, he should have knowledge of Marathi language. If not, then at least he should have a desire to learn and respect it.” He has demanded immediate action from the telecom company, accusing the female employee of Airtel Gallery of arrogantly and rude behavior.
Demand to make Marathi mandatory for employees
Chitra Wagh demanded from the telecom company that it should be made mandatory for employees working in every gallery to have knowledge of Marathi language. At the same time, he also said that the company should recruit priority to the skilled candidates in Marathi language.
What was in the viral video?
The viral video was shot by an unknown person, seeking that the customer’s complaint was not resolved in a local Airtel gallery in Mumbai and the employee’s behavior was unfair. In the video, the female employee appeared saying, “Why should I speak in Marathi? Where is it written that it is necessary to speak Marathi in Maharashtra? You talk to me properly.” When the senior staff arrived at the outlet, the female employee again said “Marathi is not important for me. We live in India and anyone can use any language.”
