Taiwan-china conflicts : The enmity of China and Taiwan is well known. While Taiwan itself considers an independent country. On the other hand, China calls it part of its region and continuously threatens to control Taiwan. Taiwan says that China continues to adopt many types of tactics to weaken its regional security. This includes gray zone tactics including espionage, cyber attack, spread of wrong information.
According to government data, the number of people spying for China inside Taiwan has increased significantly. China targets the officers who have retired or working in the army to spy in Taiwan. In such a situation, Taiwan is planning to restore military judges again to settle the case of these spy military officers.
President of Taiwan shared information about the plan
Taiwan President Lai Ching-Te announced this after the national security meeting on Thursday (March 13). He said, “Taiwan is planning to restart military judges for hearing cases of its military employees related to Chinese espionage. To restore the military trial system, it will also be amended if the law is reviewed and required. ”
President Lai Ching-Tea said, “Military judges will once again be in the front line.” He further said, “Military judges, along with prosecution and judicial agencies, will hear criminal cases related to treason, helping enemies, leaking classified information, negligence in work, disobedience and active military personnel related to other military crimes.”

The Taiwan’s intelligence agency had earlier stated that in 2024, a total of 64 people came to light in the case of Chinese espionage, 48 in 2023 and 10 Jarusi in 2022.
Military trial system was dissolved in 2013
It is noteworthy that the military trial system which the President is planning to restore again in the Lai Ching-Teet country was dissolved in 2013. The death of a young corporate was described as the reason behind the dissolution of the military court.
