Lakshya Sen has gone out of the title match of All England Open Badminton 2025 in Birmingham. He suffered a 10-21, 16-21 defeat to Chinese player Lee Shi Feng in the quarter-finals.

World number 15 Sen won his last two matches against Lee, including Thomas Cup. Now Feng will face the winner in the semi -finals between the top seed Shi You and Loh Keen U of Singapore.

Shi Feng won in 45 minutes Lakshya Sen was seen struggling in this match which lasted for 45 minutes. Feng won the first game in only 17 minutes. Feng continued to take an edge from the beginning. First 9–4, then entered the brake with an increase of 11–4. However, Sen tried to return and at a time score to 7–12. Feng returned and won the first game from 10-21, not giving him much chance.

Feng will face the winner in the semi -finals between the top seed Shi You and Loh Keen U of Singapore.

Lost games even after taking an edge in second game Feng was ahead in the second game as well, but Sena returned after trailing 2–5 and also leads a 10-8 lead, but could not retain this rhythm. The score was at one time at a par. But after that Feng took a 17-15 lead. At the same time, Sen’s finger was hurt at a score of 18-15, which had to stop the game for some time. Then Feng finally won the game 21-16.

The second game had to be stopped for some time due to the injury to Lakshya Sen’s finger.

Sen defeated defending champion in pre -quarterfinals Lakshya, who reached the final of the tournament in 2022, defeated defending champion Jonathan Christie on Thursday.

India’s campaign ends India’s single campaign at All England Open ended in the third round as the target was out. Earlier, HS Pranay and PV Sindhu were out in the first round, while the emerging star Malvika Bansod was defeated by veteran Akane Yamaguchi in the second round.

Meanwhile, India’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty got out due to injury and also lost the mixed doubles pair of Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde.

PV Sindhu had already lost in the first round and was eliminated from All England Badminton Championships.
