Jd vance on green card: A statement on the Green Card by US Vice President JD Vance would definitely have increased the concern of Indians living in America. Vance has clearly stated in an interview that the green card does not mean that any foreigner in America can settle down indefinitely. He said that it does not guarantee always living in America.
In an interview with Host Laura Ingraham of ‘The Ingraham Angle’ on Fox News, JD Vance said, ‘The Green Card holder does not have an indefinite right to live in the US. This is not a freedom of expression, it is a matter of national security. This is about who we decide to include as an American citizen in our national community.
Vance said, ‘If the Foreign Minister and the President decide that this person should not live in America, then that person has no legal right to live here. This is the general meaning of a green card. Vance’s statement came in response to the arrest of Mahmud Khalil, a graduate and green card holder from Columbia University. Khalil was detained for his role in protests against the Israeli-Hamas War.
Green card is the way of American citizenship
The Green Card is in a way a permanent resident card of America, which officially allows foreign nationals to live and work in the US. On the basis of this, migrant people can also apply for the citizenship of America. A large number of Indian people live in America with the help of green card. About 28 lakh Indians in America have green cards.
Trump’s arrival increased strictness
Since Donald Trump became the second time, the migrants in America have increased strictness. While illegal migrants are being left in the military aircraft, their country is being left in the strictness from visas to green cards to live in the US. So far it has become clear that in the tenure of Trump i.e. for the next four years, living in America for the next four years and getting citizenship there is not going to be such an easy process.
