Domestic violence: In Palakkad district of Kerala, a person has been seriously accused of divorcing his wife on phone, demanding dowry and physical harassment. The police has registered a case against the accused in this case. The accused has been identified as Shahul Hameed, a resident of Edkkulam. According to the police, on the basis of the complaint of the victim, a case has been registered and investigation has been started.
The complainant is a 21 -year -old woman who hails from Naduvattam. He told the police that she was married to Shahul Hameed in 2021. She alleged that shortly after marriage, her husband started torturing her mentally and physically. According to the woman, her husband used to constantly demand more dowry and when her demands were not met, she started assaulting the woman.
Allegations of triple talaq on phone
The woman says that recently her husband announced to end the relationship by calling her three divorces on the phone in the presence of her mother. The husband and wife were already living separately for some time, but after this incident, the woman contacted the police and lodged a complaint.
Police is investigating the case
The Kalpakanchari police has registered a case against the accused under sections related to dowry harassment, domestic violence and divorce on the phone. The police has called the accused for questioning and soon further action will be taken in this matter. Officials say that all the facts are being investigated and efforts are also being made to provide protection to the victim.
