‘Three IEDs recovered in Kashmir in three days’ & nbsp;

On Tuesday afternoon, a patrol of security forces discovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in Habdeepora area of ​​Shopian district of South Kashmir. Traffic on the road was stopped soon after the IED was detected and the bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called to safely neutralize the explosives. The IED was safely passed on the spot through controlled explosions according to standard operational procedures. The story of danger does not end here because this was the third IED recovered in Kashmir in the last three days. An IED was deactivated in Kupwara on Sunday, while another IED was detected in Kulgam on Monday and it was disabled.

On Sunday, security forces found and destroyed an improvised explosive device (IED) in the forest area of ​​Kupwara near the Line of Control in North Kashmir. On Monday, an improvised explosive device (IED) was found in the Reshipora Camoh area of ​​Kulgam district of South Kashmir and it was safely disabled.

76 terrorists active in Jammu and Kashmir

Intelligence agencies have said that only 76 terrorists, including 59 foreign terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET), are currently active in Jammu and Kashmir. Data shows a huge decline in the number of terrorists operating in Jammu and Kashmir, where a total of 91 terrorists were active in the same period in 2024.

Sources said that three of the 59 active foreign terrorists belong to Hizbul Mujahideen. 21 are from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) and 35 are from Lashkar-e-Taiba, while three out of 17 local terrorists are active in Jammu and 14 in the valley. The continuous decline in the number of terrorists operating in Jammu and Kashmir is a result of intensifying anti -terrorism campaigns in the region, focusing on tracking and neutralizing active terrorists.

Terrorism related violence and local recruitment in the Kashmir Valley have decreased significantly. Terrorists have focused their attention to Jammu, which was a terrorism-free area before 5 August 2019, when Article 370 was diverted.
