Israel-gaza war: Israel on Tuesday (March 18, 2025) launched a heavy air attack on Hamas bases in Gaza Patti. This is the first major military campaign after the ceasefire started on January 19 this year. This new attack has been carried out after the ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas have failed. The attacks by Israel in Gaza have also been confirmed the death of the chief and top official of the Hamas government.
Hamas top officials died
According to the report of the news agency AFP, several top officials, including Easam al-Dalis, the head of the Hamas government, were killed in Israeli’s AIRIRIC. The statement issued by Hamas said that Mahmood Abu Vatfa, head of the internal ministry and Bahjat Abu Sultan, Director, Internal Security Service, were also killed in the attacks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he has directed the army to take strict action against Hamas. The Israeli army said that as per the instructions of the political leadership, the IDF and ISA launched massive attacks on the terrorist bases of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu justified military action
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office later justified the military action, saying that Hamas refuses to release our hostages repeatedly, as well as rejecting all the proposals received from US President’s envoy Steve Witchoff and mediated was the reason for military action. The statement said that Israel will take action against Hamas with more military strength from now on.
The new tension between Israel and Hamas has come to light when the ceasefire negotiations failed due to disagreement on the terms of the next phase of the ceasefire. Israel had demanded to carry forward the first phase of a three-level agreement, while Hamas had insisted on moving towards the second phase.
