Arunachal CM Pema Khandu: The Supreme Court has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Finance Ministry to file a reply on the petition filed against Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
It has been alleged in the petition that the Chief Minister gave government contracts to companies of his relatives, and SIT investigation has been demanded in this matter.
Supreme Court strictness and reply from Center
During the hearing on the petition, the Supreme Court said that the issue must be considered seriously. The Government of Arunachal Pradesh order to file an affidavit, in which information about all the contracts will have to be given. The central government has also been instructed to file replies in five weeks. At the same time, the CAG was asked to submit the final report on the basis of the instructions issued on March 20.
Arguments in defense of the Chief Minister
The lawyer appearing on behalf of Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that this petition is politically motivated and its purpose is to misuse power. He also said that the High Court has already dismissed such petitions.
Supreme Court sought information about those who got contracts
The court ordered the Government of Arunachal Pradesh that complete information should be presented to the companies and persons who were given government contracts. Order to file a detailed affidavit to the Ministry of Home and Finance. The petitioner was given three weeks to respond. The next hearing of the case will be held in the week of July 21.
Explain that the court has given five weeks to submit the affidavit, as well as gave a separate time to the petitioner to respond. The matter will be heard again in the week starting from July 21.
