In the case of violence in Nagpur, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DCP) Niketan Kadam explained the seriousness of the incident. DCP Kadam was hurt in this incident that took place on the previous day. Giving information about the incident, he said that a large group suddenly spread violence in the special area.
The DCP said, “The number of crowd was very high. After this, stone pelting began and vehicles were damaged. We have several CCTV footage in which some anti -social elements have been seen moving around with weapons.”
DCP Kadam said that many officials also suffered injuries during the stone pelting. He said, “There was a crowd of 100 people suddenly from another street. They had weapons, petrol and sticks. My team was there, so my natural response was to stop them or push them back, otherwise anything could have happened.”
‘Ax attacked me’
The DCP said, “I went ahead and tried to stop them. Some of the people in the crowd retreated but one of them attacked me with an ax, causing a deep injury to my hand, but fortunately no other member of our team was hurt.”
Legal action will be taken against the accused!
DCP Kadam also clarified that soon the accused will be identified and legal action will be taken against them. He said, “Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called me and took information about my health and appreciated the entire Nagpur police. This will definitely increase the confidence of Nagpur police and we will continue to work with courage in the future.”
