Police said on Sunday that a complaint has been received from both sides on Saturday and after investigation, action will be taken as per rules. Junior Engineer (JE), originally a resident of Jhansi and currently working in Jal Nigam in Gonda, has accused his wife Maya Maurya and her lover Neeraj Maurya of assaulting and threatening to kill.
Love marriage in 2016, 3 cars named after wife
Kushwaha told that he had a love marriage to Maya Maurya, a resident of Basti district in 2016. He told that after the birth of the daughter, he bought three to four wheelers in the name of his wife and kept paying her installments.
Relatives increased close to wife after wife’s death in Corona
Kushwaha said that he bought land in the name of Maya in 2022 and gave the contract to his relative Neeraj Maurya. During this time, Maya came close to her relative and after the death of Neeraj’s wife in Kovid-19 period, her relationship became further intensified.
Caught red handed and left home
Kushwaha claimed that he saw Maya and Neeraj in an objectionable position on 7 July 2024. When she protested here, she was beaten up and Maya left home. Maya later returned home with Neeraj on 25 August 2024 and forcibly broke the lock and entered inside. She escaped with 15 grams of gold chain and cash. Apart from this, a video of the woman to the husband from the wiper has also appeared.

Kushwaha filed a complaint in this regard on 1 September 2024. On 29 March 2025, Maya threatened to kill her mother and when she protested, she along with her lover Neeraj beat both mother and son. The police quoted the complaint lodged by Kushwaha as saying that during this time Maya said that if you speak more, I will cut you into the drum by cutting you like the Meerut murder case.
Wife accused of getting an abortion 4 times
Meanwhile, Maya claimed that her husband is making false accusations. He said that Kushwaha is harassing him and has forced him to abortion four times. Maya said in her complaint that Kushwaha assaulted her in July 2024, after which she lodged a report at the women’s police station. After this, Kushwaha filed a divorce case and expelled him from the house. Vivek Trivedi, SHO of Kotwali police station, said on Sunday that some cases related to husband and wife are going on in court. He said, “The police has started investigating the recent incident and CCTV footage is being investigated.”
