Sonia Gandhi Raised Questions on Education System: Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi has targeted the central government for education. He said that in the last decade, the government only tried to implement its agenda, privatization and communication of educational institutions was done.
Sonia Gandhi said that the Central Advisory Board meeting on education has not been called since year. The central government did not talk to the states even once about the major changes related to the National Education Policy, while education is part of the concurrent list of the Constitution. He said that it is shameful for the PM Shri scheme to put pressure on the state governments and stop the funds. He further said that in the new draft of UGC rules, the state governments have also given the rights to the Central Government through the Governor, which is a big threat to federalism. He said that the killing of India’s education system should stop.
Questions raised on education system
In the article, Sonia Gandhi questioned the education system. He said in his article, “Due to promoting privatization, about half -and -a -half thousand (89,441) government schools closed since 2014 and about thirty -seven thousand (42,944) private schools opened.” He said that institutions like NAAC and NTA are in the grip of corruption.
The central government is emphasizing on communalization
He further said that the central government is emphasizing on communalization to fulfill the ideological agenda of RSS and BJP. Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination and Mughal period have been removed from the curriculum of history. Priority is being given to ideology by compromising merit in the appointment of teachers and operators of important educational institutions.
