A strange case has come to light in Mumbai, Maharashtra. A 61 -year -old woman has been arrested for allegedly making fake will for claiming her husband’s property. On Sunday, a police officer gave this information. Powai police station official said that he was detained under the FIR lodged nine months ago.
The official said, ‘The woman and her husband were exploring the possibility of divorce and there was a financial dispute between them. Later, after the husband’s death in the hospital, the woman presented a will of the husband’s thumb mark and claimed that she had named all the properties etc. However, the husband’s business partner objected to this and went to court, after which the whole was revealed.
The official said- As part of the investigation, verification by the document examiner revealed that the will was made just three days before the death of the husband. At the time when his health was poor and he was not completely conscious.
He told- ‘Apart from this, the document examiner also raised the question of why there was a thumb impression in the will when the deceased was an educated person. He said that the will was fake and was designed to evict all his legal heirs, including the husband’s old dependent mother. The woman was arrested under sections of the Indian Penal Code for fraud, forgery and other crimes and was later released on bail.
