Former Maoist leader became the face of the movement of monarchy supporters in Nepal, sometimes with Oli -PRECH – NEPAL Pro Monarchy Protest EX Maoist Durga Prasai Leads Fight for Hindu Nation Ntcpan

Protests of monarchy supporters continue in Nepal and on Monday also, there was a strong demonstration on the streets of Kathmandu. This is the largest and longest running movement in support of the king since 2008, when the last Hindu nation ended the monarchy. On Friday, three people were killed and hundreds of people were arrested in violence and arson by pro -monarchy protesters in Kathmandu.

Prankis leading the movement

It was still known about this movement that these demonstrations are being held under the leadership of former King Gyanendra Shah of Nepal. Even Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has held Gyanendra Shah responsible for inciting violence in Parliament. But former Maoist guerrilla Durga pranks are at the forefront of the movement. It is allegedly forced by the Maoists supported by China to step down the post.

Political promise and corruption in Nepal has only worked to promote emotions in favor of the monarchy. Since the end of the monarchy, this Himalayan country has seen 13 governments in 17 years. The monarchy ended in 2008 only after the rebellion and movement led by Maoist leader Pushp Kamal Dahal Prachanda. Now, after more than 15 years, former Maoists are leading the movement to bring the king back as constitutional chief and to make Gyanendra Shah sit in Narayanahiti Palace.

I swear to create a Hindu nation

Pratiya on Friday broke the police barricade during the protest and proceeded towards Parliament House. Durga is a prominent businessman who is currently absconding. On searching by the police, the former Maoist made it clear that he did not leave the country and is currently in a temple in Kathmandu. The people of the country are agitating to return to their centuries -old Hindu monarchy roots. It is leading the movement by threatening to overthrow the Oli government from the Maoist leader. He has vowed to restore the monarchy and make Nepal a Hindu nation again.

These are the same appointment whose picture of former Prime Ministers Pushp Kamal Dahal Prachanda and KP Sharma Oli had lunch at their residence in 2017. It is believed that he played an important role in uniting communist parties to form a leftist alliance. These are the same ones who emerged as the most prominent person in Nepal, which is facing political upset.

Why demand for monarchy arose in Nepal

Nepal turned from centuries -old Hindu monarchy in 2008 to a secular republic. Recently, there have been demonstrations in support of the monarchy across the country, in which people are waving the national flag and shouting slogans that ‘King come back, save the country!’ These slogans echoed in a rally of 4 lakh people in early March, when former King Gyanendra returned to Kathmandu after visiting the holy pilgrimage for two months. The monarchy of Nepal, which was associated with its identity as the last Hindu state of the world, ended after a decade for a decade led by the Maoist rebels led by Pushp Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who later became the Prime Minister.

By gaining ideological and military support from China, the Maoists launched a campaign in which more than 16,000 people lost their lives. The conflict ended with the 2006 comprehensive peace agreement, which cleared the way for the monarchy in 2008. After a decade, due to large -scale corruption and economic disappointment, the frustration of people is giving air in favor of the monarchy. The king was the center of power and stability, which has been lacking in Nepal since 2008, when he voted to become a republic.

Who is the supporters of the monarchy, Durga Pratish?

During the rebellion, Durga Prasai, who was Prachanda’s companion, has now become the face of the growing monarchy movement. Due to his impeccable and fierce speeches and interviews on social media, the entire Nepal has become a famous person. Born in a peasant family in Jhapa, the early life of Pratiya was full of economic struggles and he studied till the eighth grade. His first attempt in business like buffalo farming failed due to debt and this turned to politics.

Initially he was associated with the Nepali Congress and later joined the underground CPN Maoist faction during the rebellion. This change prepared the basis for moving forward for the arrival. During the rebellion, Pratyas supported the Maoists, even the fighters gave shelter. After the war, he joined the Maoist Center of Prachanda and later joined the Communist Party of Nepal (Integrated Marxist-Leninist) led by KP Oli.

Friends were told fraudulent

CPN-UML had influence as a member of the Central Committee. But due to lack of permission to build a B&C Medical College, he had differences with Oli. He was dropped from UML after not getting tickets in the election in 2022. The disputed businessman with the Maoist fighter claims that the Republic system in Nepal has failed. However, disappointed with corruption and economic stagnation, Pratiya broke ties with both the big leaders and accused them of cheating the public.

Hand shake with former king Gyanendra

By February 2023, Pratio formed an alliance with former King Gyanendra Shah and launched a campaign to restore the monarchy and re -establish Nepal as a Hindu nation. His combative rhetoric, collective rallies and dominance on social media have brought him to the forefront of the monarchy. For the last two years, the prank, which awakened the feelings of monarchy through protests on the roads, was first arrested on charges of corruption.

In March 2025, he was named ‘Public Commander’ by the United Public Movement Committee. His campaign to protect the nation, nationalism, religion, culture and citizens has united thousands of people, who are demanding the restoration of the monarchy and making Nepal a Hindu nation. His attitude on the monarchy has also confused the former colleagues, recently, Prachanda warned in Parliament that the Republic is in danger. Pratyas are now on the target of Oli.

Police searched for pranks

After the violence in Kathmandu on Friday, many supporters of the arrival have been arrested and now he himself is also on the police radar. Till now Kamal Thapa -led right -wing, orthodox party, National democracy party Nepal (RPPN) is leading pro -monarchy protesters. Two senior RPPN leaders have also been arrested by the police for inciting violence after Friday’s protests.

Although the leadership of Pratiya has given impetus to the movement, they are getting challenges from the supporters of the staunch republic. Whether or not you will be able to write the history of former guerrillas Nepal again, it is uncertain, but their campaign has definitely done the work of giving up the resolved debate once again.
