According to the information, walking between Jammu to Srinagar will save the passengers for several hours. Right now it takes 6 to 7 hours to travel by road. At present, it is planned to run Vande India from Katra to Srinagar. Currently, trains from Srinagar to Sangaldan in Valley. Now these trains can be run up to Katra after the railway line starts from Sangaldan to Katra.
‘PM will show green signal on April 19’
Speaking to reporters in Jammu on Sunday, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said, ‘Prime Minister Modi will reach Udhampur on 19 April. He will visit the world’s highest railway bridge and inaugurate it. After this, he will flag off the Vande Bharat train from Katra.
‘Train trial run completed’
Jammu-Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express will initially operate from Katra, as the renovation work of Jammu railway station is going on. According to officials, the railway link project has been completed last month. The trial run of the train on Katra-Baramulla road has been successfully done.
He said that the Railway Safety Commissioner had approved the train service between Katra and Kashmir in January. He said that Vande Bharat Express will reduce the travel time between Jammu and Srinagar, which will provide modern and efficient rail service for this region.
USBRL project
The Qazigund-Baramulla section started in 2009 under the USBRL project. In the year 2013, 18 km Banihal-Kazigund section started. The journey between 25 km Udhampur-Katra in the year 2014, Sangaldan to Sangaldan in the year 2023 and now Sangaldan to Katra is going to start.
