7 people have died after a gas cylinder burst on Monday night in Pathar statue district of South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Those who died include 4 children and 2 women. At the same time, an injured woman has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
According to SP Koteshwar Rao in Sunderban district, the accident took place at around 9 pm in Dholaghat village of Pathar statue block. All the bodies have been recovered. Those who die belong to the same family.
Initial investigation has revealed the police that 2 gas cylinders were blasted. Due to this, firecrackers kept in the house also burnt, causing fire and spread rapidly. 7 people died due to its grip. The police will further investigate whether crackers were not being made in the house.
Rescue work finished, investigation continues Police said- Fire brigade and police team reached the spot as soon as the fire was reported. Relief and rescue operations were started with the help of local administration. Now the situation is under control. The fire has been controlled. The rescue operation is over. At present, the area has been surrounded. And investigation is on.
